Domestic Violence Advocacy Our advocacy services are tailored to each survivors needs. Advocates are dedicated to helping survivors realize their inner strength on their healing journey. What is Domestic Violence? Domestic violence, which EVE refers to as Intimate Partner Violence (IPV), is a pattern of behavior in which one person uses physical, sexual, financial, and/or emotional abuse to control another person with whom they are intimately involved. IPV can also include reproductive coercion, digital abuse, and spiritual abuse. Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) relationships are not necessarily violent 24/7, however the perpetual threat or memory of said violence is there 24/7. Advocacy Services EVE advocates are trained to support survivors of domestic assault. Advocates are dedicated to providing trauma-informed, empowerment-based care. EVE understands that each survivor has their own story and lived experiences, and we work to honor that while supporting survivors on their healing journey. All services are free and confidential. Referrals & Resources EVE advocates are able to assist in making the appropriate referrals and identifying community resources that survivors might need. This might include attaining access to public transportation, assistance meeting housing goals, information about survivor's rights, etc. Safety Planning Advocates can assist survivors in making arrangements that prioritize survivor safety on their healing journey. Plans are personal and practical to support the individual needs of each survivor. Advocacy & Case Management Aside from offering emotional support and crisis intervention, advocates can also assist with Personal Protection Order (PPO) assistance, courtroom support, etc. 1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men have been assaulted by a partner (thehotline.org) Domestic Violence Emergency Shelter EVE offers emergency shelter services for survivors of domestic abuse.
